After a successful regular season taking home hardware at almost every tournament, the Scholar’s Bowl team is preparing to take on the postseason and reclaim the state title coming off a tough loss last year. The Jags won the title in 2014 and 2016 and placed 2nd in 2017.

The road starts with League, progressing to Regionals, and finally ending with State. Led by senior captain Alex Engels, the team consists of seniors Evan Byers, Wil Ullmann, Sydney Sagehorn, Connor Sutton, and sophomore Ruby Maderafont.

“We have had some good rounds this year and have promise. We will need to be at our best, but we can win.” senior Alex Engels said.

Regionals consists of all the 4A teams in the region, with the best competition being Wichita Collegiate. The top 3 teams from each region move on to the State tournament on February 10th.

“We have a strong team this year that has a lot of potential to take home a championship. It all starts with League so we have to perform. A State championship would be a great way to cap off the season,” senior Wil Ullmann said.
