Frosty the Snowman

Frosty the Snowman is an iconic character that many know; he is undoubtedly a staple character during Christmas! In 1950, a song called “Frosty the Snowman” was introduced. This song is well known and many know all the lyrics. Very soon Frosty became as well known as other popular characters such as Santa Claus and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. In this song, a snowman comes to life with a magical hat placed on his head by a group of kids. This leads to a day filled with fun and adventure as the kids play with their new friend. However, eventually, this adventure ends because a spell forces Frosty to go and find a colder climate. He promises the kids he will return one day when it is colder.

To this day this song is still included on many artists' Christmas albums. The popularity of the song even led to a book and movie being made. Both were such a hit that Frosty’s popularity began to grow even more. The TV special released in 1960 expanded on the song and told a more detailed story. In 1976, Frosty was shown in a TV special called “Frosty’s Winter Wonderland.” In this show, Frosty had a wife and kids after the children decided he needed to have a family. Frosty the Snowman continues to be a fan favorite each holiday season and continues to spread Christmas cheer to millions around the world!
