With ten seniors leading, the baseball team has a real shot to to accomplish something special this spring. So far, the boys are 6-4 with wins against Derby and Maize South standing out. These are just a few of the many 5A and 6A teams that the jags play this season. A standout player this season so far has been senior pitcher Austin Zellers. He is 4-0, acquiring a shutout win against the defending state champs Maize South.

“We have been really solid on the mound and defensively. Our offense is starting to reach what we are capable of and when it does we are going to be a tough team to beat,” Zellers said.

The jags got their first sweep of the season on April 24 taking both against Goddard Eisenhower. Game two brought some adversity for the boys, but with a sixth inning rally the jags took the win. The boys face Goddard on Friday where they will try to keep the wins coming. With a difficult regional coming in May, consisting of Andale, Augusta, Circle, and El Dorado, the jags will need to build on the success they have found to punch their ticket to State.
