Soccer Jags off to strong start

The soccer team won both of their games, and outscored Rose Hill and Buhler 7-0. The Jags very well represented in Hayden Kyle Barbers “top 50 soccer players.” Striker Jadyn Vossen, Wing Leyton Harper, and Center Defensive Midfielder Jack Benedict all fell inside the top 10.


The team kicked off the season with a 2-0 victory against Rose Hill.
“I thought the crowd was a big part of our victory, we really fed off of their energy. I did get my first career start, and first goal of the year. That is very important to me and I look forward to scoring more goals this year,” sophomore forward Leo Wurth said.
In the Jags second game of the year, they played the crusaders looking to go 2-0. The jags came out with the victory after winning 5-0 on a Thursday night.
“It felt great, I mean every win feels great. To be honest we left last year feeling like we should’ve won the game, but we couldn’t put the ball in the back of the net. Everyone in the locker room wanted this win more than ever because of the tie last year. We just came out and played our game,” sophomore midfielder Jared Cromly said.
The Jags Blake Robison, Varsity Goalkeeper, has allowed zero goals in 180 minutes, he is tied for the lowest in the state.
“It’s exciting. A great start to the season but I’m not really focusing on that. I just wanna focus on the team and getting wins, because at the end of the day it’s a team game and I love all of my guys,” Robison said.
The Jags soccer team is off to a 2-0 start and are searching for a league title and possibly more.
