Tennis ends season at State

The girls tennis season has come to an end. Three girls competed in the State Meet. Anna Stickland, sophomore, Jazzy Williams, senior, and Hilary Tallman, junior. State was in Pittsburgh on October 17.
Jazzy Williams and Hilary Tallman received 10th place medals. Anna Strickland lost 10-8 in a tiebreaker in the third set. The team had a season full of first place team wins. There were many 1st place individual performances.
“I loved being able to watch my teammates play and progress throughout the season, in my first time going to state,” sophomore Anna Strickland said. “I wish I would have played better that day, but I am still very happy with the way the season ended. State was such an amazing experience.
Tallman and Williams were doubles partners. For Tallman it was special for her because she was playing with Williams in her last meet.
“I was proud of the way we ended. It felt great to medal in State after a great year,” Tallman said.
Coach Janet Glaser coached the varsity girls this year. She believed the whole team was a big reason the girls performed well. “Our entire team contributed to the effort. All of the girls helped encourage them and cause them to be better and try harder.” Glaser said.
“Assistant coach Jaren, would send videos and would always know what to say to make us all better,” Glaser said.
Team dinners was something the team did consistently. Either if it was after a practice or a long day at a meet. Stickland said some of her favorite times was
“After the league meet we went to Shindigs and we could not stop laughing,” Stickland said.
The girls were honored at the Social Media Assembly October 21, as Principal Cheryl Hochhalter asked the girls to stand and were praised for their performances.
