The bowling team kicked off their season and have competed in three meets against Campus, Collegiate, Goddard, Mulvane, and Trinity. The team is 2-1, falling short to Campus. Competition continues next week on Tuesday, January 28 and Thursday, January 30.
Breakout bowlers this year include senior Jadyn Barr, sophomore Landyn Patterson, junior Allison Wolf, sophomore Jared Cromly, junior Nate Cassube, and senior Blake Robison. Each brought talent, advice, and a positive attitude to the team. These bowlers participate out of sheer enjoyment.
“I enjoy bowling because I get to meet new people and do something I really love. I am going to bowl in college so my senior season is a little bittersweet as I look forward to my next chapter and get to watch this one come to a close,” Barr said.
Among returners, the team gained several new members, including freshmen, new students, and several exchange students.
“I bowled for one year at my old school and really liked it. I was eager to join the team to get more involved in the school. I have met some awesome people and I’m always enthusiastic to go to practice every day,” Cassube said.
The team and coaches expect a fun-filled and successful rest of the season.
“Getting a strike or a spare is even better when you hear your team cheering and are given high-fives and fist bumps. The environment makes you want to do better and keep working. The team this season is full of positive and encouraging teammates and our coaches help us too. It is just a good season. I’m having a lot of fun,” Wolf said.
